An Update

Well, a lot has happened since July of last year when I wrote my last post.  We sold our house!  (Put all our junk in storage and moved in with my mother in law.)

With the profits, we purchased almost 14 acres in the country.  It is a gorgeous piece of land that is situated in on a peaceful countryside.  We had the land, the plans and the enthusiasm.  But things don't always seem to happen on my time.

We been delayed on account of rain.  Foundation preparations were started in February and then came the rain...with the rain brought to light an underground river (that wouldn't dry up because it rained and rained...) and the realization that we must first build a road.  We came to this realization after several concrete trucks because lodged in it and I learned the definition of liquefaction. So we had to wait, wait for it to stop raining, wait for the land to dry out enough and then wait for the road guy.

So, we had a road built.  We had a power line put in.  (And with that the loss of several hundred year old trees...thanks again, McCoy's Tree Service).  And we are anxiously awaiting the foundation guy's arrival.
